I might be busy for little while…

I picked up an Xbox 360 Elite system along with Halo 3 and Burnout: Paradise on Saturday, and a friend managed to snag two copies of GTA from a midnight opening at Game.

Some quick first impressions..

• It may just be the fact I’ve been playing a lot of Burnout: Paradise the last two days, but the cars I’ve driven so far in GTA all handle like boats. and grip the road like they’re on a skid pan. I’m hoping it’s just going to take some getting used to, and better cars will be available later in the game.

• The three minutes of online play I tried was a lot of fun, looking forward to getting some friends in a match and really taking it for a spin.

• Radio = Awesome. As if there was any doubt.

I’ll post some more impressions once I’ve put some more time in.

Ok, gonna be a bit stream-of-conciousness here…

• Uh, yeah, still not had a look to see what caused my template to have an aneurysm after the wordpress upgrade. It’s not top of my todo list right now.

• Been playing around with Ubuntu on one of my machines, very impressed by the driver support overall, even though I’ve not been able to get it talking to my SATA controller yet. The boot-ubuntu-to-install-ubuntu live CD is cool, but the installers partition/formatting interface could maybe do with some polish, perhaps i’ve just been spoiled by Gparted.

• Getting hard to even open a browser without seeing more GTA IV mania, almost enough to make a man buy a 360… Almost – Even with the price drops, when I add in the few accessories I’d want it’s just slightly above the threshold where I’d pick one up.

• Pandora, how I miss thee – must find a reliable around your IP filtering.

• I’ve come to realise that Netvibes is an awesome time saver…but it’s subject to diminishing returns, as the fact it puts every feed at my fingertips leads me to add more feeds…which in turn makes my daily reading routine take roughly the same amount of time as pre-netvibes! I need to be more ruthless as to what makes my main tab.
